Alwande
Alwande (she/her) is a Certified Somatica Coach in Johannesburg, South Africa. She supports clients in remembering the unadulterated version of themselves that existed (and continues to exist within them) before shame and socialization became rampant.
She describes herself as the summation of all the things she was (mostly) left without growing up: a space of non-judgment, shame extermination, safety, visibility, compassion, empathy, and an invitation to come as you are.
Her work focuses on supporting people with core mother wounds and/or parental estrangement (due to narcissistic parental abuse). She helps you navigate living life through the lens of resilience, and reconciling one’s relationship with your worth and inherent lovability. Showing you how these ruptures play out in your intra- and interpersonal relationships and mending them is her gift.
Alwande also co-creates an environment of vulnerability where men get to re-stitch themselves with a more humanizing way of being in the world and being themselves. Inspired by the work of bell hooks, she believes that love is a powerful and transformational tool that gets to be the template wherein we recreate a renewing paradigm of Being and living in the world.
As someone who has dealt with biological and parental estrangement/individuation herself, Alwande is acutely aware of the pain that comes from living an inauthentic life. She intimately knows the desire of gaining likability in a (perceived) world of conditionality and limitations, and what it means to take on the courageous pursuit of traversing the unknown.
Expertly holding your hand, she can guide you in bearing witness to the freedom of expression and self-acceptance that lies on the other side.
Alwande is located in Johannesburg, South Africa, and sees clients online.
