What is a Cervical Orgasm – and How Can You Have One?

Listen to this article

While clitoral orgasm is the most common, some women also experience profoundly satisfying orgasms that emanate from locations inside the vagina, including the g spot and the cervix. The cervical orgasm can originate from many different kinds of stimulation – including from fantasies and nipple play.

What is a Cervical Orgasm?

The cervix is part of the uterus and the part that opens up during childbirth. It is located at the furthest end of the vagina. Because the cervix is very sensitive, stimulation can give it enough activation to result in orgasm. Some women have described their cervical orgasm to feel like a spreading pleasurable sensation, deep in the gut.

How Deep is a Woman’s Cervix?

Every woman’s anatomy is different, so each woman will have her cervix at a different depth. Additionally, the cervix changes its position during the month as part of a woman’s menstrual cycle. It is lower inside the vagina during ovulation and menstruation, and deeper throughout the rest of the month. [If you don’t get queasy easily, here are some actual images of a cervix.]

Many women can reach their own cervix with their fingers (you do this by putting your fingers as deep into your vagina as possible until you feel a smooth, round surface). Other women’s cervix is very deep, or their uterus is curved in a way that makes it very difficult to reach themselves. It might, however, still be reachable by a partner’s fingers, a penis, a dildo or another sex toy.

Cervix Do’s and Don’ts

Do Enjoy Cervix Pleasure

  • Cervical Massage – Many women will enjoy a cervical massage after their whole body is already warmed up from kissing, touching, and teasing. To massage the cervix, use your fingertips or a long toy. Start on any part of the cervix and massage around in a circle. Make sure the depth and pressure is consistent so you are getting even cervix stimulation.
  • Cervix Play – In addition to cervical massage, you can also do cervix play.
    • Thrusting in the moat – If you put your finger around the edge of the cervix, you will notice that the cervix is raised, and there is a moat that goes all the way around it. You can use your fingers to both circle the moat and thrust in the moat. Sometimes women who cannot tolerate direct cervical stimulation can enjoy this kind of cervix play.
    • Tapping – From the moat, you can also tap around the edge of the cervix, creating a steady, rhythmic sensation that can move women closer to cervical orgasm.

    Don’t Engage in Cervix Penetration

While many people seem to be interested in the idea of cervix penetration, it is dangerous and something you should NEVER attempt. The cervix only opens wide enough for penetration during childbirth, then quickly resumes it’s tightly closed position. The cervix can also be dilated by a doctor for specific medical procedures. Cervix penetration at home can lead to infection, a torn uterus, or far worse consequences.

Deep Penetration Positions that Hit the Cervix

Deep penetration positions are positions that hit the cervix. For this reason, doggy style is probably the most effective position for cervix stimulation. If a woman wants to control how much the cervix is stimulated, the woman-on-top is a good position. This way the woman can slowly feel for herself how much pressure and depth is needed to hit the cervix hard enough – but not s hard that it triggers pain or cramping. If the penis or dildo is quite long, any position should work.

How to Have a Cervical Orgasm

It is important to note that not all women enjoy having their cervix stimulated. Some have extremely sensitive cervixes, and even relatively light pressure can cause discomfort or even mild to intense cramping. Other women enjoy deep, hard pounding of the cervix. This can shift throughout a woman’s lifetime and throughout her monthly cycle.

If you want to know how to have a cervical orgasm, start with learning different kinds of cervix stimulation. After you have warmed up the cervix with some play and cervix massage, bring steady, pulsing stimulation to the area to bring on a cervical orgasm. Using fingers, a dildo, or a penis, begin thrusting in and out. The thrusts should be deep enough to hit the cervix and they should be short, consistent thrusts. You should only pull out a little bit each time, so the cervix does not have big breaks in stimulation.

Some women only have cervical orgasms while simultaneously stimulating both the clit and the cervix. She is more likely to have a cervical orgasm if she masturbates her clit or uses a vibrator on her clit during deep penetration positions.
