Edna is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFC #46206) with private practices in San Jose and Palo Alto, California. Since 2005, she has helped individuals and couples improve their relationships skills and enhance their growth and self-knowledge with compassion and acceptance.

Therapy is not my telling you what’s wrong with you or what you should do when and how. We’re on this journey together and we’re discovering you together.

Therapy has us gazing into a pool together, reflecting upon your reflection.  I hold this as your space to explore within, to briefly leave behind distractions, cell, email, work, ToDo lists, and to spend a set time focusing on you—

  • What’s strong in you
  • What excites you
  • What pains you
  • What you want to do about what.
  •

Therapy, in my view, is Massage for the Soul.

Edna is a member of CAMFT (California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists) and ACME (Association for Couples in Marriage Enrichment). She has coached couples in communications skills and in maintaining separateness and the ability to “hold onto oneself” whilst working out differences. She is comfortable with couples work and the complex, sometimes irresolvable issues involved. From 20 years in marriage enrichment, Edna brings practical skills into the work, such as training in “speaking for self” and “active listening.”

With individuals, Edna has worked with clients on many different presenting issues – from alternative lifestyle referrals through to coping with loss … the loss of marriage, the loss of a loved one, the loss of function and identity through old age. Edna’s role is to help her clients navigate through the treacherous channels and emerge with some sense of peace or growth.
