ACC

Associate Certified Coach

The ICF Associate Certified Coach (ACC) credential is for the practiced coach. It requires completion of a set amount of coach-specific training; a minimum of 100 coaching experience hours; and at least eight clients, among other requirements

Registered Art Therapist

Trained in both art and therapy and hold a master's degree in art therapy or a related field.

BA

Bachelor of Arts

Bachelor of Arts (B.A., BA or A.B.) is a bachelor's degree awarded for an undergraduate course or program in either the liberal arts, the sciences or both.  Usually a four year program.

BS

Bachelor of Science

A Bachelor of Science (B.S., B.Sc. or BSc)  is an undergraduate academic degree awarded for completed courses that generally last three to five years

Bachelor of Science in Nursing

A four year academic degree in the science and principles of nursing, granted by a tertiary education university or similarly accredited school.

Chemical Dependency Counselor

Chemical Dependency Counseling helps individuals overcome a dependence on a banned substance, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Some of the drugs may include cocaine, heroin or methamphetamines. Typically, a Chemical Dependency counselor works with clients in a group setting. The group setting helps to alleviate any anxiety the participants may be having and also fosters a spirit of community by which each person can give support to each other.

Doctor of Chiropractic

Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C. or DC) is an academic degree for chiropractic providers. All degrees in chiropractic are considered to be first professional degrees. A D.C. is considered a "primary health care" provider in the United States and Canada. This implies that a patient does not require a referral to seek treatment from a chiropractor. In this sense they are considered a "portal of entry" to the healthcare system.

Doctorate in Human Sexuality

A Doctorate in Human Sexuality is a post-graduate degree awarded to an individual who has uniquely focused on the study of sexual behavior. They may have undergraduate degrees in an assortment of fields: anthropology, biology, medicine, nursing, psychology, sociology and many others. They are a sexologist who has been specially trained and who has scholastically applied their knowledge to the sexual challenges that their clients present. They will educate, assist, counsel, and help a person manage their sexual challenges.

DO

Doctor of Osteopathy

Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O. or DO) is a doctoral degree for physicians (medical doctors) in the United States. Holders of the DO degree are known as osteopathic physicians. DOs undergo a similar curriculum as M.D.s, with the addition of osteopathic manipulative medicine techniques.

Has advanced training, a graduate academic degree, supervised clinical work experience, and has passed a national or state certified licensing exam.

LPC

Licensed Professional Counselor

Has completed a graduate degree in professional counseling or its equivalent with either a two-year master's degree and two years post-degree practice or a four year doctoral degree and one year post-degree practice.

LSW

Licensed Social Worker

Has a graduate academic degree, has completed supervised clinical work experience, and has passed a national or state certified licensing exam.

LVN

Licensed Vocational Nurse

An LVN is a Licensed Vocational Nurse which is a nurse that is licensed by the state to provide routine patient care. Some states use the term LPN or Licensed Practical Nurse rather than LVN. An LVN can work in a hospital, long-term care facility, convalescent home, doctor’s office or surgical center, providing many of the same services also performed by Registered Nurses (RNs).

The Master of Arts degree may be entirely course-based, entirely research-based or (more typically) a mixture.  Admission to a master's program is normally contingent upon holding a bachelor's degree, and progressing to a doctoral program usually requires a master's degree.
