the Erotic Mind by Jack Morin, Ph.D.

Book Review by Celeste and Danielle

The Erotic Mind: Unlocking the Inner Sources
of Passion and Fulfillment
by Jack Morin, Ph.D.

This is one of the top two books (the other being Mating in Captivity) that we recommend to our clients. In his book, Morin presents a pleasure-focused, non-judgmental approach to understanding our deepest turn-ons and fantasies. Morin helps us all to uncover and understand our “core erotic theme”, the theme around which our sexuality revolves and the driving force for our sexual desire. The book offers a self-directed opportunity to do this deep work through questions and quizzes. This process will help you tap into the theme and we strongly suggest you do the exercises as you read the book. Understanding our core erotic theme is one of the surest pathways we have found to deeply knowing exactly what you are looking for from sex and intimacy.

While Morin doesn’t cover it, once you know what you want, it is an amazing exercise to create a space of acceptance, where you can communicate your desires and fantasies to a partner, be able to hear theirs and see which of them you’d like to explore together!
